An Indianola woman passed away after a fatal car crash Monday. According to the Iowa State Patrol, 23-year-old Abigail Ashby was driving eastbound on Highway 92, and crossed the center line causing a sideswipe crash with another vehicle, which then caused her vehicle to rotate into the opposite lane and was then t-boned by a third vehicle causing fatal injuries. A 3-year-old in the vehicle with Ashby was transported to Blank Hospital, with the report indicating the life was saved by a seatbelt. No update has been provided on the child’s condition, however he was transported to Blank Hospital by Madison County ambulance. The driver of the vehicle that t-boned Ashby’s car, 63-year-old Ray Sirdoreus from Winterset, was transported via Mercy One to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. The Iowa State Patrol and Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
