The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday. The board held a public hearing regarding the proposed disposition of county properties at the Marion County Fairgrounds to the Marion County Fair Board. Supervisors Mark Raymie says the disposition is being done to give two parcels of land to the fair board as it was already assumed to be owned by the fair board. The disposition should also clear the county from any potential litigation regarding the property.

Following the public hearing the board approved the resolution confirming the disposition of property to the Marion County Fair Board. The board approved a change order for the Marion County Courthouse Elevator Project as well as approved a resolution approving fiscal year 2021 Marion County budget expense appropriations. They approved a contract with Cost Advisory Services Inc. to provide professional consulting services covering fiscal years 2020 through 2022.

The board approved a resolution approving an Iowa DOT agreement for funding for the T14 paved shoulder project as well as approved a resolution moving the Board of Supervisors Administrative Assistant position to the Human Resources Department. They approved multiple appointments to the Marion County Development Commission and the Marion County Board of Adjustments as well as held a closed session to discuss strategy with counsel in matters that are presently in litigation or where litigation is imminent.
