The Knoxville Panther softball team took down the Pella Lady Dutch 10-6 Tuesday, as heard live on 95.3 KNIA. Knoxville was led by freshmen Ashlyn Finarty in the circle who gave up two early runs but settled in and earned her third win of the season giving up 6 runs through 7 innings. After Pella put up 2 runs in the top of the third inning Knoxville came right back in the bottom of the third and tied it with a one out double from freshman Emma Dunkin.
After a fly out from Ashlyn Finarty, Knoxville would take the lead on a two out two run home run from senior Maddy Findley to give Knoxville the 4-2 lead, a lead they would never relinquish. Knoxville would add one run in the fourth and five in the six to take the lead 10-2 going into the seventh. Pella would try to claw their way back into the game in the top of the 7th inning adding four runs but would come up short in the 10-6 loss. Knoxville will next take on Albia Thursday while Pella turns around quickly and faces the Newton Cardinals tonight. The result moved the Panthers to 4-0 on the year and dropped the Lady Dutch to 0-7.
