The Indianola softball team will continue their defense of the Little Hawkeye Conference title when they play host to Oskaloosa Monday evening in a doubleheader. It will be a shot at revenge for Indianola, as they were shut out at Oskaloosa 2-0 just a week ago.
In a battle of ranked teams, it promises to be an exciting battle. The game features two of the league’s top pitchers in Oskaloosa’s Faith DeRonde and Indianola’s Kate Kralik. Three of the top batters by average will also be on the same field. Indianola enters as the ninth-ranked team in Class 5A, while Oskaloosa is the eighth-ranked team in Class 4A.
Game two of tonight’s doubleheader will air live on 94.3 KNIA, with Jon Mohwinkle calling the action. Pregame coverage begins at approximately 7:15 p.m. from Indianola High School.
Meanwhile, the Indianola baseball team will also be in action, hitting the road to Dallas Center-Grimes. That contest gets underway at 7:30 p.m. in Grimes.
