Hot and humid conditions return today and into the weekend across Iowa. Highs this afternoon will top 90, with heat index values approaching 100 degrees, and Saturday looks to be the hottest day with temperatures likely to rise into the middle 90s and triple digit heat index values. Hot and humid weather will continue into Sunday, and storm chances will increase late Sunday night into early next week. All three days, residents are reminded to take frequent breaks in air conditioning, stay hydrated, and wear light colored, loose-fitting closing if outdoors, and to never leave a child or pet unattended in a parked vehicle.
