Some Melcher-Dallas Softball players finished in the top ten in offensive categories in the Bluegrass Conference this summer. Haley Godrey led the conference with a .531 batting average. That average was good enough for 15th in the state in class 1A. Four Saint players were among the top ten in the conference in hits led by Godfrey with 34. Also in the top ten were, Kynser Reed with 26, Paetyn Anderson with 25, and BrieAnna Remster with 24. Remster and Reed were second and third respectively in home runs while Grace Overgaard was eighth this summer with two long balls. Remster, Reed, and Godfrey were second, third, and fourth respectively in RBIs with Remster leading that group with 29 runs batted in, while Anderson was eighth. Melcher-Dallas finished the season 15-6 and lost to Martensdale-St. Mary’s in the class 1A quarterfinals last week.
