The PCM softball team has finished its 2020 season, and the program is in the midst of a steady rebuild. With a young roster, the Mustangs finished 5-15 overall. Freshman pitcher Paige Steenhoek saw growth throughout the season in her second year as a starting pitcher.
Steenhoek started 11 of the 20 games and went 4-6, pitching 82 ⅓ innings. She gave up 94 hits and 44 walks while striking out 27 batters. She finished with a season ERA of 3.66.
Classmate Riley DeVore started the other nine games, but only picked up one win in the process. It’s a pitching staff that has shown promise throughout the season, and a pair that coach Shaun Hudnut will be looking for continuous improvement from throughout their careers.
PCM finished with a conference record of 4-10, good for a seventh place tie.
