pleasantville-3

While the Pleasantville baseball team only picked up four wins this season, it was not a total loss in the eyes of Head Coach Sheldon Card. Against unranked opponents, Pleasantville stayed within eight runs in each game, and for the most part, competed well. Card says that his guys had the right mindset and fought hard every game.

“4-14 was not where we wanted to be, but I give them an extreme amount of credit. They never hung their heads. Maybe the Sigourney game we just weren’t ready to play. But other than that, they just fought the whole season. Even on big leads the other team had, we never quit playing, we always played as long as we could, and the energy was there. So that’s a testament to these guys. It didn’t go the way they wanted it to the whole time, but I give them a lot of credit, they’re good kids, they fought hard, and next year will be even better.”

Pleasantville finished 4-14 overall, and will say goodbye to eight seniors.
