New Simpson President Marsha Kelliher has started her term after being hired in March. Kelliher tells KNIA News she wants to build on the aspects that makes Simpson College stand out among private colleges in Iowa.

“Simpson has an excellent reputation in the academic community, partly due to the fact that almost 100% of the students are employed after graduation or in graduate school. When I was looking into this position, I was also really impressed with in addition to the academic programs, the strong athletics and curricular programs, as well as the civic engagement and conversations with students convinced me this is where I wanted to be.”

Students will begin the semester with on campus instruction beginning on August 24th, with the normal Labor Day and Fall Break holidays now considered class days. Following the Thanksgiving break beginning on November 30th, students will finish the last day of class and final exams through December 4th remotely rather than returning to campus.
