Our number three sports moment for the 2019/2020 school year at Knoxville happened on February 10th. Maggie Wilkins had a career season for the Panther Girls Basketball Squad, and on that February night in Carlisle, at the end of the third quarter she became the fifth member of the Knoxville girls five-on-five 1,000 point club. Wilkins said a few days after the milestone she did not realize how close she was until her teammates reminded her.

Wilkins:
“I had no idea about it. Katie and I had talked about in the middle of the day, and she talked to me and I thought I was farther away, so after I hit that lay up she was the first one to me and said ‘Maggie that was your 19th point.’ And I said ‘Oh my gosh,’”

Wilkins made the Iowa Girls Coaches Association Third Team All-State last season. She was the second leading scorer for the Panthers at 23 points per game. She currently has 1,069 career points and helped lead the Panthers to a 20-3 season last year.
