The Knoxville Fire Department, Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department, Knoxville Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Pleasantville EMS responded to a house fire at 610 S 5th Street in Knoxville at 10:39 Sunday evening.

When crews arrived, heavy fire was present at the back of the house, and extended into the attic and roof. Crews were on scene for approximately three hours. Improperly discarded smoking material was named as the cause. The house is considered to be a total loss, with most of the contents damaged by fire, smoke, or water. Marion County land records show the home is owned by Rebecca Cajayon and Venus Carmona.
