Most area athletes did not plan to be idle this spring, but with the COVID-19 pandemic, there were no spring sports and it left a lot of athletes and coaches disappointed. Twin Cedars Athletic Director Trent Verwers tells KRLS Sports it puts in perspective how important athletics are to high school students.

Verwers:
“Put everything in full circle that everything could be taken away from you. It was like Christmas morning when Gov. Reynolds said the kids could play summer sports. You really take it for granted sometime, but you love to see kids fulfill their dreams on the playing field.”

The first official practice for fall sports was Monday. Verwers says there are several guidelines to follow for fans and players during practice and games.
