The Indianola School District Return to Learn Plan has a hybrid model of both in-classroom and virtual learning available, and the switch between the two will be made if necessary. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News the district will be able to provide an education to students regardless of circumstances.

“We do have a good hybrid model in place right now where we are serving families remotely. That was a little bit of transition and communication, and the case at Irving is the first time we have moved a classroom to that model. Things have gone pretty smoothly, and really the community and parents have been understanding and supportive, and they appreciate our planning and that we are doing the best we can to both keep students safe and provide a good education.”

Sathoff also said the cooperation between the district, Warren County Health Services, and parents of students at Irving Elementary was a great thing to see after the recent positive case in a first grade classroom.
