A Runnells man faces felony charges following an incident Wednesday morning. At 11:50 a.m., law enforcement was dispatched to investigate a scene in the 100 block of County Line Road in Marion County. Law enforcement spoke to the victim, who said that her son, 51-year-old Donald Richard Tomlinson, picked up a pistol, pointed it at her, and asked if she wanted to die. The victim then witnessed Tomlinson point the gun at his own head, asking if she wanted to see him die.
Tomlinson then fired a round into the floor of the home. He then left the house with the gun and entered his trailer, which was also on the property. Law enforcement surrounded Tomlinson’s trailer and communicated with him through an open window. Tomlinson admitted to discharging the gun inside the home, and after some time, surrendered and threw the gun out his window.
A warrant was obtained to search Tomlinson’s trailer. During the search, law enforcement found a loaded rifle and ammunition. Tomlinson was taken into custody, and a no contact order was requested.
Tomlinson faces charges of intimidation with a dangerous weapon, and a felony charge of a felon in control of a firearm.
