The Knoxville School District has announced mitigation strategies for athletic events this school year. All spectators at all athletic events will be required to wear face coverings. Activities Director Ryan Paulsen says this will give the student-athletes the best chance to play a complete season, and for everyone to be as safe as possible.
“We’re requiring spectators to wear masks when attending events, whether it’s inside or outside. That’s one of the things we can control, you want to come in through the gate, you’ve got to wear a mask. It’s a small sacrifice that we’re asking people to make to give our kids a better chance to complete their seasons and for everybody to stay as safe as possible.”
Paulsen adds that the only exception to this policy would be for medical reasons. To view the district’s complete Return to Activities Plan, click here.
