David Gravel figured out how to beat Kyle Larson at Knoxville, start on the pole, lead every lap, and make sure he does not pass you when the checkered flag falls. Gravel led all 25 laps of the A-Main of last night’s One And Only and beat Larson, who at one time had his nose pressed firmly against his tail. Gravel said in victory lane, Larson and Paul Silva make up a good combination but so does Gravel and his crew chief Phil Dietz.

Gravel:
“Paul Silva and Kyle Larson are pretty good, but when David Gravel and Phil Dietz are on we can compete with anyone, and tonight it showed, and it felt really good, and had the motor running good. It fells good, and Kyle was close at the end, and I had a nice last lap, and my wing moved forward so I have to stay on top of that.”

Larson settled for second while Brad Sweet came in third place. The top four in points are locked into the dash for tonight’s Ninth Annual Capitani Classic. David Gravel, Kyle Larson, Aaron Reutzel and Logan Schuchart will only have to run the dash tonight and avoid one of the four qualifying races. All of the action can be heard live on KNIA starting with Live Track Side at 5:00pm and Race Nights Live at 7:00pm.
