Kyle Korver meets the 2019-20 Pella High Basketball team

The 2019-2020 NBA regular season has come to close after a long delay and a Pella native is in prime position to contend for a long-elusive championship.

Former Pella High standout Kyle Korver is on the roster of the top seeded Milwaukee Bucks, who finished with a league-best 56 wins and the Eastern Conference title heading into the delayed postseason in the “NBA Bubble,” after the coronavirus pandemic halted competition previously from mid-March to late July.

After closing pre-pandemic with a 23 point performance on March 9th, the 39-year-old former NBA All-Star had a 13 point performance on August 4th and knocked in 5-of-6 three pointers this past Monday vs. Toronto for 19 points. Korver finished the regular season averaging 6.7 points per game with a .418 3-pt percentage.

The Bucks play the Magic to begin the 2020 playoffs on Tuesday, August 18th. Back in January, Korver met the then-current Little Dutch boys basketball team in Chicago. Kyle graduated from Pella High School in 1999 as an all-state player who made three trips to the state tournament.
