A new Pella School Board member has been sworn into office. Elisa Klahsen now serves in the at-large seat held previously by Gregg Gustafson for 11 years.

Klahsen says she has been heavily involved with different functions of the school through her children and various boards, and she hopes to use that experience to represent all living in the Pella Community School District.

“I’m thankful to be able to be part of the group, one because it’s a fantastic group, but two, because I enjoyed my time on PTO and the School Advisory Council, and this seemed like a good next step for my contributions to the school,” she says. “My kids so well served the public school system, and I’m thankful for the chance to give back.”

Klahsen will hold the seat by appointment, and can choose to run for the seat in November 2021, when the current term expires.
