Last year, Melcher-Dallas Cross Country Runner J’Lyn Knutson had to endure a hip injury that limited her performance from midseason on. However, she still gutted out a state meet appearance and has a goal of getting back to Fort Dodge again this season. Coach Amy Stuart tells KNIA Sports Knutson is doing well and is still going to physical therapy.

Stuart:
“On a good path to recovery and was going to physical therapy after cross country season, and about the time we quit school she started feeling things again, and I couldn’t be there to monitor. She’s still been working with physical therapy and trying to find out what’s OK and not OK.”

Knutson is trying to finish off her high school career by making the state meet this season. Last year she finished 55th in the class 1A meet.
