The PCM volleyball team is returning an experienced group in 2020. Six players who played in 60 or more sets last season return to this year’s team, which seeks its first winning campaign since 2010. Celeste Wagaman returns for her senior season after leading last year’s team with 121 kills. Head Coach Mike Vittetoe says that he’s looking for other players to step up in that department this year, as the next player on that list had 47.
“Celeste led us in kills last year. She had over 100 kills, and is our best hitter, so it’s nice having her back. We’re just looking for some other people to step up. We had no one else with over 50 kills last year, so I’m looking for people to separate themselves. We need to do a better job of putting the ball away, getting more kills, and be efficient doing it with little errors.”
PCM has nine seniors on this year’s roster. The season starts a week from today, August 25th, at a tournament in Newton.
