While many Pella-area businesses felt the impact of losing out on Tulip Time and having smaller groups and individuals coming to the city for tourism, the Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau reports the losses weren’t as bad as previously feared.
Executive Director Jill Vandevoort says after talking with many local business leaders, they reported smaller than expected negative impacts due to closures related to COVID-19 and the cancellation of many local events.
Vandevoort says those retailers, restaurants, hotels, and organizations can still use local support, so the Pella CVB is teaming up with the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce for the Marion County Shop Small Crawl August 27th-29th in Pella, Knoxville, and Pleasantville.
Giveaways, prize drawings, and deals from local businesses will be featured, with the goal of bolstering small business owners locally as they continue to work back to normal after months of difficult business.
