The Knoxville Police Department has announced its final statistics for the past two weekends of racing. It was not the Knoxville Nationals in their usual form, but the department had more officers on duty throughout the 10 days than any Nationals in recent memory. Despite this, no overtime was required to be paid.
Over the 10 days, the department only made four arrests and issued 50 citations. Chief Aaron Fuller tells KNIA/KRLS News that it was a successful 10 days for the department and everyone involved, largely due to increased police presence.
