The Indianola City Council gave direction to city staff to move forward with the plans for the Indianola Streetscape Project at their meeting Monday, which includes a renovation and changes to the downtown Indianola square and surrounding area. Community and Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News the goal of the city is to have the project line up with the Warren County Justice Center Project.

“We don’t want to have the Justice Center completed next year, and then the year after that we tear up the streets for the streetscape. So we are trying to coordinate that so we can get them happening at the same time. So when the courthouse is done, the streetscape is done, so in the spring of 2022, everything is back to normal.”
