With the loss of several key playmakers from both sides of the ball, the Pella Christian football team will be relying on a core of returning players to lead the younger athletes full of potential in the 2020 season.

On offense, there will be a lot of new faces in new places, but the biggest key on offense may be the return from injury for a senior running back chomping at the bit to become a consistent threat out of the backfield. Head Coach Rich Kacmarynski says Cody Boender will try to put an off-season of rehabbing an ACL tear to good use, and emerge as a playmaker on a team searching for experience in the playmaking role.

The Eagles are trying to keep their high octane offense in full gear after the graduation of 1A District 7 offensive player of the year and 3rd team All-State QB Dan Jungling, current Northwestern Red Raiders Jase Amelse and Jack Vermeer, and David Willis, the four athletes accounting for the vast majority of Eagles touchdowns in 2019. Pella Christian heads to Newton tonight for a scrimmage.
