The wide range of economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic has not stopped the City of Indianola from performing regular city business, and according to Community and Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell, permit applications for home building projects are rising compared to 2019.
“We are trending pretty normal on single-family to where we were last year, a few more this year. Where we are seeing our biggest uptick is in residential additions and alterations. A lot of deck permits are being pulled, and that fits into that category. We are seeing more of those home projects being done in the area.”
Dissell also said there is no delay to the planned housing developments coming to Indianola that are beginning construction next spring.
