Positive COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Marion County, according to the latest report from the county’s Joint Information Center. As of Friday, 24 new positive COVID-19 tests were reported to Marion County Public Health, with 63 active cases. There are 278 total positives since March, and 215 recovered, with no fatalities related to COVID-19 as of Friday. That’s an increase of 72 cases since last Friday, The 14 day positive test rate analysis is now at 12.4% percent, a number that is used for schools to determine if they can apply for 100% remote learning. Districts can apply for a waiver when they approach the 15% threshold to potentially close school buildings.
