The City of Indianola has announced that an additional 11 cases have affected the City of Indianola and surrounding Indianola Fire District, for a total of 226. The City of Indianola and fire district has seen a growth of 79 cases in the month of July, and now a growth of 57 cases with one week to go in August.
According to the August 24th update from the Iowa Department of Public Health, Warren County has had 658 cases of COVID-19 affect the area, with 175 of those currently active, nine more than the August 21st update. Warren County also has five deaths from the virus, with Iowa as a whole having 1,043.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has set a 15% positive test rate as a metric that might indicate schools should move to remote learning. As of Monday, Marion County is just under the threshold at 14.8%, while Warren County is at 5.8%. There are four counties over the threshold, including Plymouth, Crawford, Clinton, and Henry.
