With the season postponed to spring of 2021, the Simpson football team will have extra time to train and learn the playbook. Head coach Matt Jeter tells KNIA Sports his squad will use this time to not only focus on the physical aspect of the game, but the mental.
“It’s almost like a redshirt year. My first year, before I came to Simpson, I redshirted at South Dakota, and I just got bigger, faster, and stronger. I see that as being the same philosophy with these kids now, treat it as a redshirt year, a year we get back, focus on the leadership and focus on learning the offense, defense, and special teams so we can move the needle forward with the program.”
Jeter also said they will focus on the same things they would normally focus on during this time, getting better at football any way they can.
