The No. 12 in 4A Pella volleyball team opens the 2020 season tonight at home against Ballard. Pella will want to showcase the offseasons’ worth of improvement with the vast majority of the 2019 varsity team returning.

Varsity Coach Mallory Peterson says the 2020 Lady Dutch are hoping to build off of an inconsistent season last year and learn from growing pains to get themselves back in a spot to contend at the top of the conference and for a bid in the 4A state tournament.

The Lady Dutch have dominated the All-Time volleyball series with the Bombers, winning 12 of the 13 matchups in the Quikstats era, last falling to Ballard in 2011.

As part of crowd restrictions, the Pella volleyball team is hosting a live video stream through the school through Pella Dutch Live on Youtube. The varsity match against Ballard begins at 7:15 tonight at Pella High School.
