The Indianola volleyball squad will compete against some old rivals to open their season this afternoon, traveling to a tournament at Southeast Polk to face the host Rams as well as Des Moines Lincoln and Norwalk. Head coach Kent Halstead tells KNIA Sports his team will have to be better than ever at finishing plays.
“Certainly just terminating plays is so important now in volleyball. Fifteen years ago if you could serve and pass you would be in every match, those simple things. But now if you don’t terminate, we’ve really worked in our program just jumping and hitting more. From third grade to eighth grade to varsity. The game certainly has changed.”
Action starts off today at 4:30pm.
