This Saturday afternoon, we kickoff our fall of Central College football “KRLS Classic” broadcasts with a wild season opener from four years ago.
On September 3rd, 2016, the Dutch made their longest ever road trip for a game, to Spokane, Washington to take on Whitworth. The game featured 1,197 yards of total offense, and the outcome hinged on just a few inches.
The final score was 50-49, and the voices you heard were Trevor Castle, former Dutch defensive coordinator Don DeWaard in his first game after retirement, and NBC’s Harry Smith. Re-live the entire broadcast Saturday afternoon at 1:00 on 92.1 KRLS.
