The Marion County Shop Small Crawl began one week ago today, and was an overwhelming success. 39 businesses in Knoxville, Pleasantville and Pella participated, and offered special deals and prize giveaways. Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Director Hannah Vander Veer says that area businesses benefited from the event, and social distancing was well-followed.

“From a business standpoint, we heard lots of good feedback from our participating businesses. It was the first time we ever tried to do an event like this, and during a pandemic, we were open to whatever possibilities there could have been. So we heard lots of good feedback on people taking the proper health and safety precautions, while also enjoying themselves and spending some money locally.”

Customers were able to enter a grand prize drawing for a two-night stay in either Pella or Knoxville. Those winners will be announced next week. To hear a complete interview with Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Director Hannah Vander Veer, tune into today’s Let’s Talk Knoxville.
