The Knoxville Township Rural Fire Department has cancelled its annual pancake feed. Chief Kenny Thompson says that the department wanted to play it safe this year.

“We’re going to cancel our pancake feed for this year due to the Covid stuff and everything. We’ll just see how things go and we’ll probably try to continue it on next year. It’s been good for us, but I think with everything going on, we’ll just lay low for a little bit, and hopefully things will get better. And we’ll go back to doing it again next year.”

The department normally holds the feed during National Fire Prevention Week, but will reschedule to 2021. Thompson says donations are still appreciated.
