Knoxville will look to even its record tonight when the Panthers host Keokuk in the 2020 home opener at Ken Locke Stadium. Knoxville gave away a lot of drives last week against Fairfield with 13 penalties for 80 yards. Knoxville also had drives stall out in the first half and could not get much going in the second half of last week’s 15-7 loss to Fairfield. Coach Eric Kellar is stressing cut out the penalties and finish drives this week.

Kellar:
“Just cut down on penalties, and play physical and don’t hesitate, we talk about that all the time. I don’t want anybody being tentative, we preach that all the time even if you’re not in the right place just go, we can live with mistakes. We can cut down on penalties and don’t punt on three and out too many times.”

Quarterback Kieren Nichols was given the go ahead to play this week and will start after giving way to freshman Noah Keefer last week. Kellar says the playbook will be a bit more open with Nichols in the line up. Listen live on 95.3 KNIA and kniakrls.com starting with the pregame show at 6:30pm.
