Those hitting the waters of Lake Red Rock for the final time this summer during the Labor Day weekend are reminded to continue practicing safe boating and swimming habits. Park Ranger Tracy Spry says Labor Day is one of the busiest times of the year on the lake, and she reminds all who plan to enjoy the water to be wearing a life jacket. Additionally, those boating should be mindful of their surroundings and ensure their safety gear is still in good shape before venturing off shore. Those who plan to swim are encouraged to do so among company and to stay in designated areas whenever possible, and Spry says wearing a life jacket is also highly encouraged. Additionally, all boaters are reminded to never operate while intoxicated.
