The Christian Opportunity Center has opened up a new facility in Indianola, and despite several events being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, staff are finding creative ways to serve those in the community who rely on the center for their services and programs. Amy Zuck with the Christian Opportunity Center tells KNIA News this past week, the centers in Indianola, Pella, and Knoxville served 100 individuals who missed out on their annual summer camp to a makeshift camp this year. Activities included some of the most popular summer camp activities such as a bird feeder craft, making lanterns, learning how to put up a tent, campfire safety, and of course making s’mores.
