A much needed 4-1 day and a runner-up finish at the Bondurant-Farrar Invitational for the Knoxville Volleyball Squad on Saturday. The Panthers started slow in the morning session by falling to Cedar Rapids Kennedy in two sets, but won the next four matches for the host Bluejays two sets to none, Atlantic two sets to none, Winterset two sets to none, and Nevada two sets to none. Brittany Bacorn continued her great play with 32 kills on the day and Marley McKay dealt out 69 assists. Senior player Amy Sullivan tells KRLS Sports the Saturday tournaments are something this season’s team wants to get better at.
Sullivan:
“We really want to focus on our Saturday tournaments bringing a lot of positive energy and focus on the postseason and be ready for that.”
The Panthers are now 12-2 on the season and will finally play at home for the first time this season on Tuesday night in a key South Central Conference with Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
