PCM is hosting two varsity events today in Monroe. The cross country team will host their lone home meet of the season, as various schools from the area will visit the PCM High School track and surrounding area. The Mustang girls will try to build off the success of last Monday’s team title at Pleasantville, while the boys will race with a full team for the second time this season. Boys runner Kyle Sanders had a career-best run at Pleasantville last Monday, and hopes to continue that trend.

“I felt very proud, it was the fastest time I’ve ever gotten in any race. So I felt pretty proud of myself. I have definitely improved since last year, gotten much better by leaps and strides. So I feel much better about that.”

Action gets underway at 4:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, the PCM volleyball team will host a non-conference match against Martensdale-St. Mary’s. The Mustangs enter 9-14, and will look to snap a two-game skid from Saturday’s tournament at North Mahaska. The Blue Devils have won two in a row entering tonight’s contest, and are 2-5 on the season. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. inside the PCM High School gym.
