A Washington County District Judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Site A Landowners against the groups behind the South Central Regional Airport Agency (SCRAA).
In a ruling made late last week, District Court Judge Crystal Cronk stated the plaintiffs in the matter could not prove irreparable harm would be caused if the Regional Airport project proceeds. The lawsuit was an attempt to end a 28E Agreement between the Cities of Pella and Oskaloosa and Mahaska County that binds the three entities in moving forward with constructing an airport between the two communities. As part of the ruling, Cronk cited the 28E Agreement had been found valid in two other rulings made over the past two years.
At the most recent SCRAA meeting, the organization acquired additional land for the project after authorizing the Execution of an Agreement with Ronald J. and Linda Wichhart. The SCRAA board has cancelled the meeting originally scheduled for today.
