After playing its first 14 matches on the road to begin the season, the Knoxville Volleyball Squad took full advantage of home court to dominate Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in a 3-0 sweep 25-9, 25-12 and 25-18 on Tuesday. The Panthers in each set jumped out to commanding leads and kept the Rockets out of system the entire night. Knoxville was on point serving with three girls not missing a serve the entire night led by Marley McKay going 30/30 and four aces, Amy Sullivan was 12/12, and Emma Dunkin was 10/10. Reilly Finarty came up with nine kills with Brittany Bacorn putting down seven kills. Coach Mollie Keitges tells KRLS Sports serving and defense were key in the win.
Keitges:
“Our servers were really aggressive tonight and mixing up and moving the ball around. I just loved how our defense played tonight, I think they only had one kills that wasn’t touched by our defense and that made our blocks and everything else so, so easy.”
The Panthers are now 13-2 on the season and 4-0 and take a commanding lead in the South Central Conference race. Knoxville heads to the Pella Christian Invitational on Saturday.
