The Knoxville Library is celebrating Banned Books Week this week. Director Roslin Thompson says that this week is a campaign to celebrate the freedom to read.

“We are celebrating the freedom to read whatever you want. Libraries do a campaign to encourage people to read banned books, to celebrate that you can read whatever you want. Parents may want to monitor what kids read, and that is fine, as long as parents keep up with what the kids are reading.”
