indianola-3

With many of the Indianola football teams offensive starters earlier in the season seeing some of their first varsity snaps, the Indians offense took some time to get going. Junior running back Kael Kolarik was the focal point the defenses were keying in on, and it was up to other players to step up for the Indians to find success. In the game against Urbandale, Kolarik was limited to just 7 yards in the first half, however eight other Indians players touched the ball to give them a slim lead. Head coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA Sports it is that versatility that continues to develop that makes the Indians a strong team.

“Everybody’s game plan is to stop Kael Kolarik, and I’ve seen other guys begin to step up and begin contributing and making plays. That is what we are going to need moving forward at the end of the season, guys stepping up to make plays so we are a versatile team not just trying to run with Kael only. He is very capable of that, but that will open things up for him down the road.”

Indianola takes on Ames tomorrow evening on the road.
