Two Indianola residents have been charged with Child Endangerment Resulting In Death after a newborn infant was found unresponsive. According to the Indianola Police Department, Amber Nicole Phillips and Gregory Burton Rodee were charged after an incident where Indianola rescue personnel were dispatched to an apartment for a newborn infant that was not breathing, and after rescue efforts Phillips denied transportation to the hospital for the infant. Rescue personnel were again called out to the residence at 7am the next morning, where resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death was conducted by the Indianola Police Department, and the charges were brought forward by the Warren County Attorney’s Office, and an autopsy showed the child had tested positive for multiple drugs. Child Endangerment Resulting in Death is a class B felony.
