Emergency crews across Marion County spent approximately five hours clearing the scene of a rolled-over LP Tanker Monday.

The truck owned by Two Rivers Cooperative left the road heading northbound and rolled, coming to a rest just past the driveway at 972 210th at 11 a.m..

Idaho Drive in Pella has reopened and residents who were evacuated from Bos Landen were cleared to return to their homes after precautionary measures were taken as the LP truck was a potential hazard to get back on its wheels and towed away due to remaining gas in the tanker.

Pella Assistant Fire Chief Joel Braafhart thanks the many agencies that came to support the effort.

Pella Fire, Police, and Ambulance, Marion County Emergency Management, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and City of Pella electric crews all responded. Knoxville Fire and Rescue also came to assist with evacuation. The Pella Hy-Vee provided food and water to crews.
