The Indianola volleyball team took down Newton in Little Hawkeye Conference play Tuesday evening, winning 3-1. The Indians fell in set one after a long tie breaking scenario 31-33, then went on to sweep the next three sets 25-20, 25-22, and 25-10 to round out the victory. Head coach Kent Halstead tells KNIA Sports despite the end of the regular season being close ahead, the practices don’t change much.
“We are just going to keep drilling, drilling, drilling in practice. We want to scrimmage but you can’t scrimmage all the time because we want to keep working on our plays. So we just need to keep drilling like any team should be.”
The Indians are now 7-8 on the season, and will host a tournament this Saturday.
The Indianola girls swim team fell to Norwalk Tuesday evening at the Indianola YMCA 92-78. Jorja Culver won the 100 freestyle and the team of Kinsli Cram, Olivia Ramaeker, Julian Bacon and Jorja Culver won the 200 Freestyle Relay. Indianola competes next on October 20th in the Conference Meet.
