Indianola Football Travels to Ankeny

The Indianola football squad ends their regular season tonight on the road at #4 Ankeny this evening, facing off against some of the top skill position players in the state. The Hawks are averaging 45 points per contest this season and over 400 yards of offense, while the Indians defense has held the high powered offenses of WDM Dowling, Western Dubuque, and Urbandale to less than 28 points. Head coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA Sports the Indians will need to be on the top of their game to win.
“We’re gonna have to be able to run the ball, and we are going to have to be able the throw the ball and be able to be balanced as well. We can’t go three-and-out and give the explosive Ankeny offense opportunities all night long. We have to limit their possessions, and just like any week we have to eliminate the big play. They are very capable of striking from anywhere on the field with all of their talent. We have to tackle well, make sure there are no mental busts, and go out and play with a bunch of energy. If we are able to do that, then I like our chances.”
The game tonight can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the play-by-play. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30pm.
