The Indianola School Board met in regular session Monday evening. The board approved an amendment to their current policy regarding face coverings in schools, and are now requiring face masks in all schools K-12, which includes all students, teachers, and staff, and face shields when physical distancing is achievable, and will go into effect November 2nd. The measure does not include gator face masks per recommendations from public health. The policy was approved in a 4-3 vote by the board, with Carolyn Langenwalter, Donna Kreamer, Ken Bresnan, and Ben Metzger voting in favor. Board President Rob Keller, Sue Wilson, and Laurie Abernathy voted against the policy.
