With the Warren County Justice Center Project well underway, the Indianola City Council approved further procedural items regarding the Downtown Streetscape Project at their meeting Monday, ensuring it will coincide with the square construction. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the council approved a designation for the square and surrounding area for funding purposes for the use of TIF (tax increment financing), one of the ways the city will be funding the project. Waller also said TIF is a commonly used way for city governments to fund projects such as the downtown streetscape, and used for redevelopment, infrastructure, and other community-improvement projects.
