The Indianola City Council approved the next step in the E Iowa Ave Paving Project at their most recent meeting, continuing to develop the area for the Missouri Valley Line Training Facility that is being built. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News the paving of the road is an investment for the continued development of the city’s industrial area.
“This will make the industrial park much more developable, which is a huge opportunity for the economic development of the area. The great thing about this is twofold, bids came in 3-4 hundred thousand dollars under what we had anticipated, and the other exciting part is a federal grant is going to pay approximately $450,000 of this project. So again, because of our planning and staff we were able to go out and get the grant, which is a tremendous benefit to our community from an economic development standpoint.”
