It was business as usual for the now 8-0 and top ranked Mustangs following a 61-0 home win over Saydel in their 2020 playoff opener.

The running clock started before the end of the first quarter as PCM found themselves up 35 in the blink of an eye. This included three pick sixes by the Mustangs, courtesy of Justin Maggard, Andrew Mitchell, and Gatlin Boell. They finished with five interceptions on the night, as Maggard had another and Kaden Hale joined in on the fun as well.

Running back Sage Burns had three touchdowns as well for the second consecutive game. Head Coach Greg Bonnett speaks highly of his bell cow rusher, who was well rested off a bye week.

“He’s the kind of guy who’s going to be fresh. Just because he’s not out there on defense, he doesn’t have that other series role any more. He’s really embracing the role he’s been given. His standards are pretty high for himself, so I don’t really have to coach him that much. He’s getting better by the day.”

PCM’s next opponent is still TBD. Check back to kniakrls.com at noon today when the announcement is made. You will still be able to hear coverage of that game on the KRLS3 stream at kniakrls.com starting at 6:30.
